About InspirationINSPIRED

Leon, the company's CEO is a Yoga devotee. He started practicing Yoga as a way to find a calmer approach to life itself and to alleviate physical pain from a major accident. Starting with an entry-level class he was later introduced to the eight-fold path of Ashtanga Yoga. One of those paths is Asanas (disciplines of the body (the physical poses)). The ultimate Ashtanga obtainment is the eighth limb, Samadhi (enlightenment). He became over time fully immersed and in love with the Ashtanga practice, his physical pain was alleviated and he found a way through Yoga to become more ‘present’ in life.

Leon quoting Mahatma Gandhi said that “The spark of life can only be found in the present moment”; and said that he had learned through Yoga that “It is not that which brought you here that is important in life; that the importance in life is that we abide and remain in the here-and-now; that if we are obsessed with the past or the future, we cheat ourselves out of the present; and that by ‘letting go of that which does not serve us’ in the present we allow ourselves the comfort of the ability to live fully in the moment at hand”. Leon said that “Through Yoga, we can we allow ourselves the gift of being present (and attentive) in our lives”. Leon believes in holistic healing through holistic well-being; that if one wants to restore or enhance their general health/well-being and find balance in their life that Yoga is an essential therapeutic; and that by combining suitable/appropriate movement and correct breathing technique one can maximize the benefits of the practice; and that the key to a successful practice is in meeting the physical body’s limitations with peaceful acceptance and then moving fearlessly into the possibilities of greater strength and flexibility through a patient and persistent practice.

 About InspirationTHE STORE

In regard to The Inspiration Store, Leon said that "The focus of any company is commerce; however, the vision of the Inspiration Store is commerce focused in alignment with Yogic principals and attentiveness to those it serves. He said, "What serves a tower should it be built inaccessible to those it serves".

About InspirationSIMPLE NOT EASY

Quoting the great Patanjali Leon said that; “Yoga is union of the individual self with the universal self", and that "If we can calm our minds we can discover our true selves and experience this union”; then quoting Shri K. Pattabhi Jois (the founder of Ashtanga Yoga) he said that "Yoga is for everyone, not just the strong and the flexible, when Yoga is understood and used correctly it can help anyone change their life”. Jokingly Leon said that “I haven’t obtained enlightenment through Yoga, but I have caught a glimpse it in my Yoga path”. Leon is wholly inspired to share with others what he has learned through Yoga.

Simple, though not easy, Yoga restores balance in one's life. If you’ve lost flexibility or vitality, have low energy, gained unwanted weight or feel stress, Yoga can address these issues. Through a Yoga practice, you can feel better, look trimmer, become more energetic, look better in your clothes, and can get an ultimate workout. But even more importantly, you can get an ultimate “work-in”. If you are willing, you can go beyond the physical to discover what’s happening within. Ask yourself, "What are my blocks to growth; what kind of life do I want?"; "What are my strengths?", "What are my gifts? These are but a few of the many questions you can begin to ask (and get answers for), on a Yoga mat.

 About InspirationTHE PHILOSOPHY

Ashtanga Yoga is a practice and philosophy that develops one’s psychological and spiritual health. It has been kept alive for thousands of years from one generation to the next by being passed on through a lineage of teachers. It has not endured by staying fixed in the past, rather it is a living tradition that has maintained its integrity while adjusting to people’s needs, and the demands of the time. Ashtanga Yoga is not bound to one particular religion, political lineage, or any other association. What this tradition (Ashtanga Yoga) does, is it connects us to the life-force that flows through all beings and it remains grounded in a deep sense of respect for the teachers and the practice itself.

 About InspirationTHE PRACTICE

The practice of Ashtanga Yoga (Ashtanga/Vinyasa Yoga) as established by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India is a system that consists of a precise sequence of poses (asanas), breath control (ujjayi pranayama), a gazing point (drishti), and internal energetic locks (bandhas). Each pose in the sequence is a preparation for the next and is traditionally practiced in sequence. The combination of breath, movement, and focused awareness generates heat (tapas). This heat purifies the senses of perception, (indriyas), and consequently, practitioners become more discriminating in how they feed their senses. According to Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga Yoga is a path that leads us to our own spirit, to our very nature.

There are two traditional ways in which Ashtanga Yoga is taught: in a Led Class, where the Vinyasa system is counted out loud by a teacher with the Asana series followed by all in union; and a Mysore-Style Class, where everyone goes through the Asana series individually, at their own pace, under the supervision of a teacher.

Yoga is above all experiential. It is your own experience that will always be our truest and best teacher.

As Pattabhi Jois was fond of saying “99% practice, 1% theory. Do your practice. All is coming!
